The Apothecary Diaries (薬屋のひとりごと, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto), is a Light Novel adaptation based on the Apothecary’s Monologue Web Novel series of the same name written by Natsu Hyūga. Illustrations for the Light Novel are drawn by Touko Shino. The light novel began publishing under Shufunotomo’s Hero Bunko imprint on August 29, 2014. This was the first print publication that more completely covered the events of the Web Novel for the The Apothecary Diaries franchise

It has been adapted into two manga series in 2017, with one published by Square Enix in Monthly Big Gangan, and another one published by Shogakukan in Monthly Sunday Gene-X. The light novel is licensed digitally in North America by J-Novel Club and in print by Square Enix, and the manga illustrated by Nekokurage is also licensed by Square Enix. An anime television series adaptation produced by Toho Animation Studio and OLM aired from October 2023 to March 2024. A second season is set to premiere in 2025.
